Creative advent calendars

Monday 3rd December 2012

In case you’re still without an advent calendar, don’t fret, there’s still a bit of time to make your own. What’s that saying… “better late than never”! Here are a few of our favourites to get you inspired.

Mini matchbox advent calendar from Martha Stewart. Fill the drawers with tiny sweets or festive notes! Instructions here

Standard white envelopes have been put to excellent use for this beautifully simple advent calendar. We love the little paper stars and extra decorations! Created by Veronika, the lady behind fewthingsfrommylife.blogspot.co.uk, see the original post here

An entirely edible advent calendar? Yes please! These gingerbread biscuits are decorated to perfection but I’m sure we’d still manage to tuck into them on the right day. If you’d like to have a go at baking your own calendar the lovely Jules Gilbert has posted the recipe on her website butcherbakerblog.com you’ll find the steps here

This woodland scene advent calendar is rather ambitious but what child (or adult for that matter) wouldn’t love it! Made from paper, each creature and scenic item hides a chocolate treat. Taken from Sung Online for German magazine, Nido. The entire post is found here
